Boiled Rutabagas

1 large rutabaga
salt
margarine
nutmeg (optional)
Peel one large rutabaga and chop into small pieces. Place in pot of salted water and boil until tender (about 30 minutes). Remove from stove and drain. Place several tablespoons of margarine in pan and mash like you would potatoes. For extra flavor, add a dash of nutmeg.
This is good as a substitute for mashed potatoes.
Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.
