Ingredients

3 Tbsp butter or oil
3 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
dash garlic powder
dash onion powder
dash basil
dash oregano
1 1/4 cup tomato juice

Directions

Melt butter or heat oil in saucepan. Stir in flour and seasonings, and cook over medium heat until bubbly.

Add tomato juice slowly, stirring with wire whisk to get rid of lumps.

Cook until thick.

Substitutions


Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.
