Prick squash.
Line an oven-safe pan of appropriate size with foil and put squash in it. Bake at 350 °F for about an hour until the squash is soft.
Allow it to cool, then cut open, scoop out and discard seeds, scoop the inner flesh (squash) from the outside skin, and mash the squash.
Top as desired with margarine and a sweetener of choice.
Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.
