1 1/2 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar
1-2 Tbsp rice milk
2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp soy-free shortening
3-5 drops red food coloring (or other color)


Put all ingredients except rice milk in bowl. Beat together. Beat in rice milk, a bit at a time, until you reach correct consistency.

It is my understanding that Wilton Food Coloring is processed at the same place where tree nuts are processed. You would have cross contamination, please advise if there is a different food coloring out there that is not processed where nuts are processed.

I'm pretty sure AmeriColor gels are nut-free. I tried to check their website, but it's currently down for maintenance. I recommend posting on our Food & Cooking forum to ask others what they have found (join/login to post) -
