4 cups chow mein noodles *see below for gluten free option
1 cup safe chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut, soy, or other nut butter

Melt chocolate chips and safe peanut/nut/soy butter on stove. Remove from heat, and stir in chow mein noodles. Press into muffin tin, making an indentation in the very center. Chill in refrigerator. Turn them out, put little jelly beans or egg-shaped candies in the indentations.... you've made birds nests!

Verify ingredients of chow mein noodles and chocolate chips. This can be made using any safe "nut" butter

*To avoid wheat and/or gluten, this can be made with gluten-free rice crispies instead of chow mein noodles.

Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.

Gluten: Gluten is a protein found in specific grains (wheat, spelt, kamut, barley, rye). Other grains are naturally gluten-free but may have cross-contact with gluten-containing grains. Look for certified gluten-free products if you need to avoid gluten. Find out more about wheat and gluten substitutions.

Peanut Substitutions: There are many peanut-free products available in the US. Find out more about peanut substitutions.

Fast, visually perfect and 1 batch made 19 generous nests.
I made them for my twin granddaughters classrooms (18x2) and they were the biggest hit for this years special snack. FYI I made 1/2 gluten free using safe chic chips and sun butter. May try toasted coconut just to see how it works. Thanks
