Buttermilk Substitution

Ingredients

1 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
1 cup safe milk substitute

Directions

Put vinegar in measuring cup. Fill to 1 cup with safe milk or substitute. Allow to stand a few minutes before using.

Was interested in trying this in a fried chicken recipe...think it would still be ok to use as a buttermilk substitute if frying is involved?

It works great for fried chicken! I use it all the time. I soak my chicken in a mixture of So Delicious unsweetened coconut milk beverage and the juice of a lemon. I add a shot of hot sauce too. So yummy!
