• Party for a great cause!

Hold a House Party featuring one or more recipes from our current KFA Recipe Showdown competition to raise awareness about food allergies while supporting KFA, a nationwide tax-exempt nonprofit charity.

Donations raised at your House Party will go toward meeting our ambitious goal of offering even more great support resources to help families and their children in 2009!

Your house party can be small and simple or as large as you want it to be; it can be a dinner with friends, a family get-together, a Labor Day family barbeque, or whatever type of party that works best for you.

At your House Party, serve one or more recipes submitted to the KFA Recipe Showdown, invite your guests to vote on their favorites, and use it as an opportunity to collect donations from your party guests for KFA. You can earn some great incentive gifts from KFA based on the amount of funds you raise during your party.

KFA provides the recipes for your menu, a party-planning checklist, invitations, scorecards, and educational materials. You supply the location, food and guests!

We're looking for those of you who appreciate what KFA does to help families and are willing to host a party to raise funds to support our work. Will you help our cause and reach a goal of 50 house parties - the equivalent of just one per state - by being a party host?

• KFA Celebrates its 3rd Anniversary

February 28th marked Kids With Food Allergies' three year "anniversary"! During the past three years, we've grown to 10,000 members and 10,000 newsletter subscribers. Our members have posted 300,000 messages seeking and offering support to other parents of food allergic children. And every month, we get busier. Our Web site already has had nearly 150,000 visitors so far this year.

We've accomplished a lot in the past three years through hard work and teamwork. Already this year, we've added two new forums, Parents of Children with FPIES , for parents with children having Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome, and Share Your Food Allergy Journey , where members can share their stories. We've also switched our e-newsletter to a twice-monthly format to provide you with a more timely connection to the news. We hope you find these new features helpful. And there is more to come!

We have you to thank for our success to date, in addition to our awesome team working on the forums or behind the scenes. Those of you who participate, donate, support us with your family memberships, volunteer countless hours or tell others about Kids With Food Allergies all make KFA a great place. Our volunteers in particular are so vital in filling many different roles to help us continue to grow. We also continue to rely on our Medical Advisory Team for guidance and for developing resources for our Web site.

We are committed to run our organization professionally and in a fiscally responsible manner. Your contributions and family membership fees all go directly into paying for our costs in providing services to you. No one is making a profit. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity, we are accountable to you; our records are open for public inspection in accordance with what the IRS requires of us.

We will continue to respond to our members' needs and in providing a source of informative and supportive resources on our Web site. We welcome hearing from you if you have additional suggestions to offer.
