New Allergy Friendly Foods

New Allergy-Friendly Foods for Kids

The Natural Products Expo West, a food and natural products industry trade show, celebrated its 30th anniversary at its recent expo in Anaheim, California. Featuring exhibits from over 1,700 companies, many of which accommodate the allergy community, the event showcased the latest in natural food and products.

This spring's expo attracted a record 56,000 industry attendees, including Kids With Food Allergies. KFA's representative tracked down the newest products to share with you—parents of kids with food allergies. Read the report to find out what new products are now available!

For your convenience, we have indicated if the product is Kosher or vegan with these symbols:

Word of caution: We've made a good-faith effort to obtain accurate information about these products, but as with everything you buy for your children with food allergies, be sure to verify for yourself that these products are indeed safe for the food allergies you manage for your child.

Milk
Egg

Wheat
Gluten
Peanut
Tree nut
Fish
Shellfish

Soy
Corn

Cross-Contamination Issues: Although these chips currently have the words “Always Corn Free” prominently featured on the front of the package, the back of the package warns that they are "made in a facility that may also use soy, dairy, seeds, wheat, corn, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts."

The company representatives explained that these allergens are currently in their shared facility, but on completely separate machinery. They hope to have their own allergen-free facility by the end of 2010.
