A Child's View of Food Allergies VIDEO CREATED BY AN 11-YEAR-OLD!
Kalika, age 11, has created and narrated a video to show what the Kids With Food Allergies Foundation does to help keep children safe and healthy: educate and support families and help them find safe foods and recipes the whole family can enjoy. She dedicates her video to her brother and other kids with food allergies. She would like you to view the video and then vote for KFA in the Stay Classy awards for the category of "Innovative Use of Social Media." We are one of 25 charities nationwide to have been nominated. The winner is chosen by a public vote and judging panel and receives a $15,000 award!
This is a one-time vote. No daily voting!
Please share this with your family and friends as well.

A Message from Our Sponsor

Americans Support Bans on Food Allergens in Public Places
"In the latest NPR-Thomson Reuters Health Poll, we asked people ... if they believe bans on certain foods, such as nuts, from public places (think airplane cabins and lunchrooms) are an important safety measure. A majority — 59 percent — said the bans are OK by them."
Love Can Drive You Nuts: Teens, Dating and Food Allergies
"As food-allergic children reach their teens, they face many new challenges in allergy management, including a first date and even a first kiss, both of which hold hidden dangers."
Food Allergies Challenge Families
"For the growing number of parents of children with food allergies, simple activities have to be planned to avoid food that could give their kids hives, swollen tongues, or in some cases, cause anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition."
Untangling the Web of Eczema and Food Allergies
"Children with atopic dermatitis have a high risk of food allergies – although these allergies are not always easy to pinpoint ... positive skin prick testing – a common form of allergen identification – isn't a very accurate way to detect the allergies. As a result, parents of children with atopic dermatitis (AD) will frequently state that their child has a food allergy, when, in fact, none exists."
